We're in the Three Weeks now, the stretch of the Jewish calendar when we remember destruction. And honestly? Look at this week's stories. A baby born to a a man who rebuilt his life. A synagogue opening where there's never been one. Teenagers digging up 2,000-year-old history. We remember destruction, and then we go build. That's who we are.

From The Ground
Here's something the headlines won't tell you: while missiles were flying this week in the Middle East, the planes to Israel kept landing, full of new Olim. And I don't need a news site to know it, because some of them are leaving from right here. Families at camp, families I know, are packing up their lives and moving to Israel as the summer moves forward. I get to cheer them on, answer their questions, and watch them start the journey I began from this very place a few years ago. Honestly, is there anything more hopeful than that? Am Yisrael keeps coming home. ๐ฎ๐ฑ

From Mourning to Mazal Tov ๐
Meet Nati. On October 7th, Hamas terrorists murdered his wife, Shiran. He mourned. He suffered unimaginable pain. And then he picked himself up. He met Bat El, they fell in love, they got married, and this past week they welcomed a baby girl into the world. Mazal tov, Nati and Bat El. Am Yisrael Chai. ๐ฎ๐ฑ

A Synagogue Reborn in Kissufim ๐
After more than two years of destruction, Kibbutz Kissufim has opened its first-ever synagogue. And the Aron Kodesh inside it has a story of its own: it traveled from Gush Katif, through Shlomit, all the way to its new home. Even after the greatest challenges, Am Yisrael returns, rebuilds, and strengthens its roots.

The First Machine Is On-Site in Be'eri ๐
Construction officially began this week on a brand new Young Adults' Residential Complex in Kibbutz Be'eri: 20 safe homes and shared spaces for the young farmers, entrepreneurs, and educators who will carry Be'eri forward, thanks to the partnership of CJP and KKL-JNF. Be'eri lost so much on October 7th. But they did not lose their future. Am Yisrael builds. ๐ช

The Soldier Who Missed the Last Train ๐
After two exhausting weeks on base in Eilat, a young female soldier arrived at the Beersheva train station in tears. She'd missed the last train home. Station manager Avichai Ben Hur and his team refused to let her be stranded: they arranged connecting transportation, called her parents to reassure them, and made sure she got home that night. Thank you, Avichai and team. This is Israel.

A local photographer in Venezuela filmed Haredi Israeli volunteers from Zaka who came to help after the earthquake, thanked them, and asked permission to photograph them. We always step up to help. A huge Kiddush Hashem.

Eurovision: Case closed! ๐
So many of you made a huge stink on this issue, over and over, and it worked. Eurovision Director Martin Green confirmed there will be no more votes on whether Israel should be excluded from the competition. Nearly 70% of the European Broadcasting Union's members voted to ALLOW Israel to keep participating. Finally!

โช27 Million to Open Up Judea & Samaria ๐จ
Israel has approved a โช27 million plan to develop hotels across Judea and Samaria, with the goal of turning the region into a true overnight destination. More places to stay means more visitors exploring its rich biblical and historic sites. (And yes, I'm already dreaming about the itineraries.)

๐ฎ๐ฑ SHILOH: 2,000 Years Later, the Land Is Still Talking ๐
Days before Tisha B'Av, archaeologists digging in southern Samaria uncovered a stunning find from the Second Temple period: an ornate mikveh, a clay cooking pot, and, rarest of all, a shell of the purple-dye snail, the very creature used to make the dye for tzitzit and the High Priest's garments. And here's the sweetest part: some of these treasures were found by teenagers sifting excavation soil at the "Samaria Treasures" facility. The next generation, literally holding history in their hands. From destruction to discovery, our roots run deep. And we're still here.
